Britain Bombs America, America Bombs Britain
An investigation of land use on bombing ranges in the United States and Britain
Postgraduate students from the Curating Contemporary Art department at the
Royal College of Art have invited the Center for Land Use Interpretation from
Los Angeles to present its practice in the UK for the first time. This will
the third project to be curated by CCA students with the support of the Monique
Beudert Fund, which focuses on the exchange of ideas between Europe and the
Americas. The project has been developed through discussions between the CCA
students and Matthew Coolidge, Director of the CLUI, concentrating on the
investigation of military land use in the US and the UK.
"The Center for Land Use Interpretation is a research organization interested
in understanding the nature and extent of human interaction with the earth's
surface. The Center embraces a multidisciplinary approach to fulfilling the
stated mission, employing conventional research and information processing
methodology as well as nontraditional interpretive tools."
