More and More The Audio Guide,
by Andreas Gedin
In connection with the Swedish artist Håkan Rehnberg's retrospective
exhibition (including some works by the Swiss 18th century painter Caspar
Wolf) at Liljevalchs konsthall (Stockholm, Sweden) Andreas Gedin produced
an
audio guide for the partially sighted. This was loaned to visitors together
with a relief map of the premises.
The Audio Guide intruded directly into the ongoing exhibition. It presented
itself as a work of art and as an educational tool principally for people
with defective vision but also for those with normal eyesight.
In the audio guide a professional visual interpreter describes both the
premises and the works of art without using value judgements or historical
references. He describes only what he sees.
